A novel of romantic suspense

Joe Flynn is just like any other twelve-year-old his age, except for one thing. Joe has witnessed a murder. The only thing is, no one believes him. Not his mother, and certainly not the detective assigned to the “alleged” case. At least not until dead bodies start popping up. After thirteen years, Detective Roman MacKenzie has had enough of big city crime in New York and craves the crime-free existence of the small town where he was born. But no sooner than Roman returns to Salmon Lake, PA, he not only finds himself in the middle of a serial murder investigation, but he’s drawn to the woman he left behind all those years ago--Angela Flynn. Angela’s son is the only witness they have, and it’s Roman’s job to protect him from the killer. Only the detective has no idea that the boy he’s risking his life to save is also his son. Nor does he realize that, looming in the shadows, is the killer and he’s bent on making Angela his next victim.

PRYING EYES took 1st place in the 2003 Stepping Stone contest, was a finalist in the prestigious 2001 Maggie contest, a finalist in the Winning Beginnings contest sponsored by the Valley Forge Romance Writers, won first place in the 2001 Romancing the Novel contest, and was a finalist in the 2001 Golden Gateway contest. EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE

Hollin Pierce’s past comes back to haunt her when she returns to Whisper Lake, Pennsylvania. Trying to help her mother hang on to the home that has been in their family for generations is an uphill battle, and Hollin has no choice but to sell some of the surrounding land. But the only man interested in buying is Griffin Wells, the man Hollin sent to prison years ago. Griffin still maintains his innocence to this day, claiming he was framed. And as Hollin gets to know him again, the attraction and feelings she once had for him return as she slowly realizes she made a mistake. She sent the wrong man to prison. She also realizes that if Griffin wasn’t the one who raped her when she was a teenager, then someone else did, and that someone is running around free. Now she can’t decide who to trust, and when her sister is murdered, Hollin knows it’s only a matter of time before someone comes after her.

EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE was a finalist in the 2004 Molly contest and the 2004 Stepping Stone contest.

BAILEY’S IRISH DREAM

All Bailey Maguire has ever tried to do is please her mother, and what her mother wants is for Bailey to be married with a couple of kids running around. So when Bailey’s fiancé, Stanley, dumps her ten days before their wedding, she panics. This isn’t the first time she’s been dumped--it’s the third. Her mother will surely go into cardiac arrest this time. After plotting and scheming, Bailey comes up with the ideal plan. If her parents despised Stanley, they’d be happy there wasn’t going to be a wedding. And since they’ve never met the man, Bailey hires a substitute to take his place. Zedidiah Quinn needs money to save his bar and grill. So when Bailey offers to pay him an obscene amount to pose as her fiancé, he jumps at the chance. Only Quinn soon finds out that this job isn’t as easy as he thought it would be. He’s supposed to make the lady’s parents hate him, but no matter how obnoxiously he behaves, they seem to only love him more. And if that weren’t enough, Quinn discovers there are risks involved when impersonating someone. It seems Stanley has double-crossed some pretty shady characters, and now it’s up to Quinn to protect not only his own hide, but Bailey’s as well.

MEANWHILE, BACK AT THE RANCH

Luke Galloway doesn’t lie. Well, not normally. And never about anything as serious as death. But, somehow Luke’s friend and business partner, Sam Paris, convinces Luke he needs to do just that. Sam hasn’t seen his daughter Rusty for twenty-one years, and he’ll do anything to get her to come home. Forget the fact that she’s lived all over the world, and in more exotic places than on a Kentucky horse farm. The way Sam figures it, is that the only way he’ll ever get Rusty to come back, is if he were dying. And so the lie begins. Rusty Paris has enjoyed the good life; boarding schools, fine designer labels, and traveling around the world. But something is missing from her high society life style. When Luke tells her that Sam wants her to come home, she wants nothing to do with the father who neglected her all those years. But this is Sam Paris’s last wish. Or is it? What Rusty doesn’t know is that Sam is as healthy as an ox. Luke wants no part of the charade, especially after meeting Rusty. Oh, she’s easy on the eyes, all right. In fact, she’s gorgeous. But she’s also a spoiled, little, rich girl. And Luke has been there, done that. He’s determined to keep his distance from Little Miss Hoity-Toity, until he discovers he’s also a pawn in Sam’s sneaky little game.
